Pat Buchanan’s Garden

In our food garden

I’m thrilled when anything at all grows. It all seems miraculous.
I bottle, make chutneys and pickles, and regularly take a boot load of produce to Melbourne to share with friends.

Standout sustainable practices

I’m a big fan of mushroom compost for helping my veggies to get cracking and grow. I’d also recommend sugar cane mulch as it stops lots of weeds and is good for the soil.

Top tip for novice gardeners

I’m not sure I’m qualified to give advice! I reckon I’m still learning. But it’s a good idea to get your Brussels Sprouts in early.
