Citrus Drive

Lindsay Renison planted the ‘Citrus Drive’ garden after moving to Warragul in 2019.

For Lindsay, having a productive garden is everything: ‘You can have the best house but without a garden it’s nothing, or the worst house can be great with a nice garden’.

The property was just a flat lawn when Lindsay arrived. He added a number of outbuildings and hard landscaping features along the way.

The citrus tree-lined driveway is just stunning.

Lindsay plans and plants to the seasons for maximum yield and the garden is so productive that he able to give away some of his produce to his lucky family and friends.

Standout sustainable practices

Lindsay uses organic sprays, fertiliser, compost etc., that all have their own purpose. He says that the main factor is imagination and trial and error by learning what works best.

Building with recycled materials. Lindsay likes to build his raised garden beds with brick because they don't rot away like wood does.

Top tip for novice gardeners

‘Just do’ and DON’T grow anything the family won’t eat!

Look out for

A builder by trade, Lindsay constructed many of the structures at his garden, including a greenhouse with recycled windows, a small cafe, (we'll be selling coffee there!), a guesthouse, again with recycled materials.
