About the workshop
Please arrive at 2 pm for a 2.15 pm start.
This workshop is for you if you're:
- A confirmed baker or a curious novice keen to explore the marvels of sourdough
- A fan of fabulous home-baked goodies in their simplest, most sensational forms
What you'll learn
- What is a starter - making the basic recipe
- How to care for and feed your starter
- What is sourdough discard? (non-lively yeast vs. lively yeast). How to store discard and how long to keep it
- How to use your starter in recipes - Crackers, pikelets, muffins, etc.

Sample goodies showcasing the range of delicious things you can make using Catherine's sourdough starter—crackers, banana bread and perhaps (fig tree willing) a beautiful fig, rosemary, and honey focaccia.

About your presenter
A self-taught baker, Catherine runs Slow Dough Bakery, a micro bakery from her home kitchen. She bakes handmade sourdough bread for her community in Warragul. Catherine bakes an incredible range of sweet and savoury products, including fabulous focaccia, buns and pastries. Catherine's baking centres on seasonal produce, often from her own garden.
